Geostorm, the futuristic Hollywood film, directed by Dean Devlin, starring Gerard Butler (paying Jake Lawson), showing Dubai and other cities in the world being hit by a massive wave respectively suffering from other extrem weather conditions, opened yesterday, 19th of October 2017.
The location of certain buildings in Dubai is not the most accurate. Burj Khalifa for example has been moved closer to Sheikh Zayed Road and even to Dubai Marina in some scenes to support the effect of the huge wave.
However, the plot is following the classical drama plot from Hollywood and therefore a solid bet when it comes to enterainment value. If you like disaster films and if you like Dubai, this film is a must and a great idea to watch in a cinema with a big screen together with your friends on the forthcoming weekend.
The commander of the international Space Station, Ute Fassbinder, is a German Lady playing a vital support act to save the world. "Good bye Ute." and "Auf Wiedersehen Jake." will wet your eyes when Ute and Jake face death together.
Geostorm follows in the foot steps of films like Star Trek (Beyond) and Mission Impossible (Ghost Protocol) by using the impressive Dubai Skyline as a set for the film.
Where to watch Geostorm in Dubai. Don't get too excited about the film poster.
