According to the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), the UAE (with Dubai) are the new power in the Gulf.
"The United Arab Emirates changed the Near and Middle East with their modernization course. Women are promoted, religion should be a private matter. And Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Zayed continues to expand his influence."
